Strathalbyn is the place to come for fresh, locally sourced, olive products. Talinga Grove on the eastern edge of town, is an award-winning,  family-owned business that sells premium grade products from their farm gate and several outlets in Strathalbyn.

A ten minute drive away is the very popular Langhorne Creek Wine Region, which is well-known for its award-winning wines.

The towering gum trees dotted across the Bremer River floodplain make this region particularly attractive – it’s no wonder the free campground at Frank Potts Reserve is in such demand! While at Langhorne Creek, it is also worth visiting Newman’s Horseradish, where you can taste and purchase one of South Australia’s food icons. A little further on is the Currency Creek Wine Region, which lies between Strathalbyn and Goolwa.

Only a short drive from Strathalbyn is Sacred Grove, located in the historic Belvidere brickworks. This is where Australian native medicinal plants are turned into a range of naturally scented rubs, oils, teas and massage oils.

A short scenic drive along Ashbourne Road will take you to Ashbourne, which is home to pear & apple orchards.

For orchid lovers, a trip to Burian Tom Orchids (Ph: 0412 391 989) on Heinjus Road, off Callington Rd, is worth a visit.  The business is a wholesaler, but does sell direct to public.
