The brand new Strathalbyn Football Club will be opening it’s clubroom building. After three years of work, and approximately $2.4 million, including grants from the Office of Sport and Recreation, Alexandrina Council, AFL and Federal Government, the project will open it’s doors officially.

The RSL also contributed to the new venue, and will have a new home in the top level of the building.

Andrew Batten, former President of the Strathalbyn Football Club, said a huge portion of the build had been donated with ‘in-kind’ work from local tradesmen, club members and players. Trade donations and goods were also supplied at cost. Leading the build was local builder, Brenton Smith.

The official opening will be at 2pm on Sunday November 12, when Sport Minister Leon Bignell will lead the ceremony, along with Rebekha Sharkie MP, Isobel Redmond MP, Mayor Keith Parkes and previous Mayor Kym McHugh.
