Alexandrina Council has concerns about the safety of the main road between Strathalbyn and Mount Barker.  The Council will write to transport minister Stephen Mullighan asking for information about upgrades to Long Valley Road.

Councillor Ben Brazzalotto raised the issue at Alexandrina Council’s June meeting.  He said “This popular and vital arterial connection between the high growth districts of Mount Barker and Strathalbyn continues to present users with hazards no matter the weather conditions.”

Council will form a working group to establish which of the main roads owned by the Department of Transport require attention.
