There are two racing clubs at Strathalbyn:

The Strathalbyn Racecourse is a picturesque track, fringed by rose bushes and expansive lawn areas, on the southern fringe of the township. There are sixteen race meetings held every year, including the well-known Strathalbyn Cup and Langhorne Creek Vignerons’ Race Day.
Race days attract large crowds, and there is nothing better than donning the latest fashions, sipping champagne with friends and hearing the thundering of hooves!
